Rival Nutrition Clean Gainer
Rival Nutrition Clean Gainer
From Myles (5'9", 162lbs, 36 years old):
Well, winter is upon us, and for many a gym-goer that means that it is time to bulk. If you are a functional athlete, and not a body-builder, bulking does not mean that it is time to eat pizza and ice-cream. Rather, it simply means aiming for a caloric surplus at the end of each day, and this CAN be achieved with high quality food, but is much easier with a high quality Gainer shake. If you are in a caloric surplus and hit your minimum recommended protein intake for your size, then you should experience an acceleration in growth and performance, no secret-sauce needed.
If you are highly active, and have a high metabolism, it is going to be very tough to get in all of your calories without supplementation, and that is where a Gainer Shake comes in. Two scoops of Rival Clean Gainer gives you a whopping 30 grams of protein and 99 grams of carbs, which also happens to hit the golden carb to protein ratio of 3:1 which is essential after heavy muscle breakdown from training or competition. If you wanted to hit a similar macro-split from real-food it would require you to consume a can of tuna and two cups of cooked white rice. Now that is certainly an option, but when I am getting near that hour mark of my workout, I am craving this shake, and can’t say I’d be craving the can of tuna the same.
Over my fifteen year career as a fitness coach who worked with professional and amateur athletes in various sports, I have not met many athletes that I would not strongly suggest this product too. It will increase your performance, recovery, and body-composition if used correctly. And it tastes fookin’ great mate!
Currently I surf 2-3 times/week, lift 3-4 times/week, and hike A LOT. Since I burn so many damn calories, and I am an Ectomorph, I have literally taken this product post workout for well over a decade. I can't recommend it enough.
Who shouldn’t use this product?
This is a lot of calories, like 560 calories which is a solid meal for most people, so if you are aiming for a caloric deficit to lose weight, a non-Gainer post workout shake would be a better choice.
